Management Team

I am Professor of IS and Director of the Institute of Digital Economy and Innovation at HKU Business School, The University of Hong Kong. Previously, I served as Acting Head at CityU. I received my bachelor’s and PhD education entirely in the IS field, with formal training in Asia, Europe, and then North America, reflecting both a strong IS core identity and a truly global academic background.

My research and editorial activities reflect a deep commitment to supporting the plurality and inclusiveness of the IS field. I have published over 80 research articles in IS and beyond, including MISQ, ISR, JMIS, JAIS, ISJ, EJIS, DSS, I&M, IT&P, POMS, JOM, SMJ, among others. My research has received over 12,000 citations (Google Scholar), with an H‑index of 46. These works span diverse genres, theories, levels, and methods, including surveys, experiments, econometrics, qualitative studies and simulation.

I am Co‑EIC of IT & People, and have served as SE at ISR, JAIS, ISJ, JIT and AE at MISQ, ISR, I&M. I received ISR AE of the Year Award in 2015. Across these roles, I have consistently supported research with diverse methods and traditions.

My teaching and services to the global IS community further reflects this openness and inclusiveness. My teaching cases published by Ivey, HKU and Harvard have been adopted over 100,000 times by more than 500 universities across 70+ countries. I have served as Track Co‑Chair for ICIS and PACIS since 2013 across multiple research genres, and as Co‑Chair or Advisor for DC, junior and mid‑career faculty consortia, mentoring scholars worldwide.
