HKU Business School’s IDEI Hosts Bloomberg Company Visit

BACKGROUND

On May 7, 2025, the Institute of Digital Economy & Innovation (IDEI) at HKU Business School successfully organized an engaging company visit to Bloomberg, held at 25/F, Cheung Kong Center, 2 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong. The event welcomed Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate (UG/TPG) students, along with members of the Asia Case Research Centre (ACRC).

The 1.5-hour session offered participants a unique opportunity to explore Bloomberg’s cutting-edge workspace through a guided tour, followed by an insightful training session on Bloomberg’s key tools and applications. Attendees gained valuable hands-on experience with data analysis, economic modeling, and market impact assessment. The visit fostered a deeper understanding of real-world financial technologies and provided an excellent platform for academic-industry exchange.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to visit Bloomberg. During the visit, the trainer spent an hour and a half teaching us some basics about the Bloomberg system, which was incredibly useful. It once again demonstrated the system’s powerful multifunctionality. At one point, the trainer even used the system to help us find highly rated nearby restaurants, which was very interesting and fun.”
