Prof. Yulin Fang, Professor of Innovation and Information Management and Director of the Institute of Digital Economy and Innovation (IDEI) at HKU Business School, delivered a talk at the A+ Summit, co-hosted by the Association of Hong Kong Accounting Advisors and Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors. The event united government, business, academia, and industry to discuss Policy Address priorities and Hong Kong’s path to a stronger financial hub, faster digital transformation, and deeper regional integration.
Speaking on the theme “Policy Address, FinTech and Digital Currencies,” Prof. Fang, together with Dr. Lee George Lam, former Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport, and Mr. Hua Ying, General Manager of Yonyou Financial Information Technology (Hong Kong), explored the future trends of Web 3 and digital assets.
During the session, Prof. Fang analysed the Web 3.0 landscape and Hong Kong’s strengths in driving digital innovation. He emphasised that while Web 3.0 enhances efficiency and transparency, it also brings challenges in law enforcement, cybersecurity, and system stability.
The Summit underscored consensus that digital transformation is a top priority for Hong Kong’s accounting profession, with the Policy Address charting the way forward in FinTech, AI, and Web3.0.
